Marcus Aurelius writes in Meditations:
Man seeks seclusion in the wilderness, by the seashore or in the mountains – a dream you have cherished only too fondly yourself. But such fancies are wholly unworthy of a philosopher since at any moment you choose you can retire within yourself. Nowhere can man find a quieter or more untroubled retreat than in his own soul. Above all he who possesses resources in himself, which he need only contemplate to secure immediate ease of mind. Avail yourself often then, of this retirement, and continually renew yourself.
Deep rest is the antidote to stress. Vedic Meditation allows us to rest more deeply than sleep.

Peaceful people are the basis of peaceful societies. When many people are radiating bliss and balance (rather than stress and anger,) a tipping point is reached. The whole of society becomes calmer, kinder and more sustainable.
Today on this most auspicious full moon of the year, it is a tradition to give thanks to the guru. Guru literally means remover of darkness.
Q: Who is the ultimate guru?
A: Your innermost state of pure consciousness. The light of pure consciousness will always dispel the darkness of ignorance. Today we give thanks for this.

In meditation if we think something other than what is happening should be happening, we are straining. Be easy. No straining. Take it as it comes. Nature knows what to do.
There is no such thing as a ‘bad’ meditation. Even those noisy, thought-filled ones are working. Thoughts indicate stresses are leaving the system. It’s all good.
Finding it hard to meditate in the afternoon? Is there a church nearby you could go into, sit down and close the eyes?
When you meditate, an oil appears on the skin that has anti-aging properties. Take your morning shower before sitting down to meditate so you don’t wash away these benefits.
